    Default Bidz-In Feedback

Bidz-In asked me to post some feedback about them, so here goes!

I managed to find Bidz-In when they first set up and have been fortunate enough to win 2 of their early auctions for a 4gb iPod Shuffle and a TomTom One SatNav. Sadly they are becoming more popular so it's getting harder to win(!), but last week I managed to win a Sony PS3 which has just been delivered today.

All of the items have arrived amazingly quickly, so big credit to Bidz-In for this. My PS3 was won on 28 January in the evening and arrived this afternoon (3rd February) even with a weekend in-between.

I really haven't been paid to say this, but I have received outstanding customer service from Bidz-In so far. I have emailed a few times and always get a fast response from a real person. Most impressively the TomTom was left on my doorstep by an errant courier - not their fault but they have taken issue with the courier anyway - hope they don't mind but one of their emails regarding this said "It reflects badly on us, and also the couriers we use, and it's not really an image that we want to portray. We do appreciate your feedback though, and to be quite honest, we do wish that more customers would feedback to us - after all, we can only try to correct things if we know about them!" I have also made a suggestion about something on the website which was welcomed and is being looked into with a view to improving things.

I'm looking forward to the site growing to include more auctions, but appreciate it takes time to get established. Definitely a good penny auction site!

Question bidz, super quick, but 3 bid items are naughty.

My experience of bidz is its nice to be able to win an auction and receive goods within really quick time. I was impressed with bidz and how quick they despatched goods, my previous experience with cookiebid and madbid was over a month to receive anything on the rare time i ever won anything.

The only down side to bidz is the type of auctions they run which eat 2 or 3 bids per bid. they are not brilliantly expensive items usually just over £100 but it cost you 3 bids to bid just once. you find all your bidsa eaten up very quickly.

I have been asked how i find the customer service of Bidz-in.Com, in particular on how I found their delivery service.

I am using the membership name of Moondog, on Bidz-in.Com and I recently won a Sky Challenger, £0.04, incl. VAT. + £5.00 Delivery Charge Accepted 13/01/2010, at 12:18:40

I received the item from Bidz-in.Com, within a few days of winning the item, and I am very impressed with their delivery service, I would also like to say that their bid pack 20 Bids for £10.00, very reasonable.

You will have to pay a little more to win a auction now, but that’s to be expected, as this site is attracting members, and that can only be by reputation, Yes i like this site and its delivery times, if their other members are receiving the same customer service as i have, then they will be well pleased also, and there is no reason that they shouldn’t, that I can see.

Thanks everyone who provided feedback for us - we really do appreciate it!

We've got more auctions up this week, with more bid packages up for grabs (we've also reduced the Bidz to Play amount so it won't feel like your bidz have disappeared in a second. Not only that, you cannot "accidently" bid twice on an item any more). All this is being done because of the new system, so that our customers feel that they are getting the best service from us, and that we really do listen to every little thing that you say!

Along with the above-mentioned improvements on the site, we're hoping to get a testimonial system in place for official feeback, an international shipping system, and also allowing our customers to see how many bidz a BidBuddy has used. This was another feature which was requested by one our customers.

Obviously the international shipping system should be a huuuuuuuuuge giveaway, as you're probably aware, or read somewhere, that we are still testing the waters to cater for US users.

So next week, we're hoping to put some e-Vouchers up for our US customers, namely for Macy's and Amazon to see how it goes. Don't forget (and this applies to everyone) if you would like to see anything in particular on the site, please email us, and if our International Shipping system has been implemented in time, then you can start bidding on International Auctions aswell!

As a final reminder, our 25% Free Bidz offer was extended to midnight 12/2/2010, so get your bidz-in whilst you can! (This is for both UK & US users)

    Happy bidding!

And yet another one is history.....

    Hi guys,

With great regret, we'd like to inform you that Bidz-In.com will be closing within the next few days.
The main reason being due to our paying customer base not expanding the way we'd anticipated, and due to making a substantial loss.
We'd like to thank the customers who supported, and participated in the auctions and hoped you enjoyed the experience whilst it lasted.
Any items won, will be sent out as usual - outstanding bidz however, will not be refunded.

This is not to say that this is the last of us - hopefully we will be coming back soon, bigger and better.

    So keep watching this space!

    Kind regards,
    The Bidz-In Team
I used to be a powerbidder, but now I just make mental bids. That’s how I lost my mind.

Oh gosh...this is REALLY getting to be a bad situation and I wonder if it will ever end?? Will we just be playing on 2 or 3 big sites that seem to have made it as the rest will have gone by the wayside??

I wish there was an answer to all this. I do have ideas as to what these sites are doing wrong and could change. I know that getting traffic to your site is the number one challenge as I still own my second auction site for jewelry that sits doing nothing on a server. I tried posting tons of stuff on it for outright sale over a 5 month period in 2004 and never sold one thing. I do well on Ruby Lane in a shop there now, but look at how high their traffic volume is.

I am keeping notes on all my ideas and looking into things, but the more I read about another site biting the dust it discourages me from even wanting to attempt a go at it...doing everything right as I would be trying to, apparently isn't always the answer.

I am sad to hear this. Although I never personally played on the site, after reading posts it sounded like one of the good guys. Maybe it boils down to too many folks jumping on the Penny Auction bandwagon thinking they are going to make tons of money right off the bat. Life isn't like that. I know firsthand.

I am still in business after 13 years having an online auction, but 99% of my items now sold are consignments that folks send to me and trust me to sell for them. So I really don't have a big cash outlay for stock on the autograph site like the PA owners who must have the money to buy or order the items they auction off every day.

I truly am sorry to learn of another site's downfall.

    Linda

I like Bidz a lot, I won there goods several times and always got quick delivery, next day I think, and I never had any problems. I know a lot of people who use this service and they are also satisfied. you can read here more people's opinions Bidz.com @ Pissed Consumer.
